What to make of the different answers that come from the administration with regards to the Putin meeting in Germany? What to make of the New York Times story that Donald Jr. met with a Russian attorney last year to get dirt on Hillary? Was the entire international community really talking about John Podesta and DNC email servers as Donald claims. One thing we at As The Donald Turns can tell, “It’s True Until It Isn’t.”
• So now we have Donald Jr. meeting with Russians. Clearly, Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone and Carter Page were not enough. The young prodigy had to get in on it also. The New York Times reports that Donald Jr. met with a well-connected Russian attorney who had some dirt for him on Hillary. The meeting happened in June of last year, after Donald won the Republican nomination but before the convention. Jr. took Manafort and Jared Kushner with him. When he was first asked about the meeting on Saturday, Trump Jr. said that it was primarily about child adoptions and mentioned nothing about information that could damage Clinton. His account turned out to be True Until It Wasn’t, so he changed it and issued an official statement.
“I was not told her name prior to the meeting. I asked Jared (Kushner) and Paul (Manafort) to attend, but told them nothing of the substance. We had a meeting in June 2016. After pleasantries were exchanged, the woman stated that she had information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Ms. Clinton. Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information. She then changed subjects and began discussing the adoption of Russian children and mentioned the Magnitsky Act. It became clear to me that this was the true agenda all along and that the claims of potentially helpful information were a pretext for the meeting. I interrupted and advised her that my father was not an elected official, but rather a private citizen, and that her comments and concerns were better addressed if and when he held public office.”
So Jr. went to a meeting with a Kremlin attorney that he did not know, to talk about getting hacked information from Hillary’s campaign, but once it turned to adopting Russian babies, he was out. The bottom line…he was willing to go to the Russians to help beat his opponent. Of course he never reported the meeting with the attorney, because who among us has not met with a Russian spy in an effort to destroy a political opponent?
• This of course comes on the heels of his father, you know the guy in the Oval Office, being unable to make up his mind what our relationship is with Russia. At his speech in Poland last week, Donald said maybe it was the Russians who interfered with the election or maybe it was someone else. He threw his own intel community under the bus in front of the world at the same time. Then came the G19 meeting, (20 countries minus the US, since we got nothing out of it). It was time for the meeting with BFF Vladimir Putin. Only six people were in the room including translators, so if you are looking for truthful perspective, forget it.

“I strongly pressed President Putin twice about Russian meddling in our election. He vehemently denied it. I’ve already given my opinion…..”
I have no idea what that means because Donald has actually given at least six different opinions. Which one was he referring to?
The Russians came away saying Donald believed their denial. The administration did not deny they believed the denial but denied anything beyond that. You see where this is going? All of It Is True Until It Isn’t. Take for instance Donald discussing a cease fire in Syria.

“ …We negotiated a ceasefire in parts of Syria which will save lives. Now it is time to move forward in working constructively with Russia!”
This of course is true except for the parts where it is not. Sure, the Russians and the US agreed to a cease fire. You know who did not agree? Syria/Assad. ISIS. Any of the other rebel groups currently engaged in the civil war. So a cease fire was negotiated for an area currently having no military activity. Well done.
• The US left the meetings being hammered for dropping out of the climate change accord; had no customary press briefing at the end with other leaders announcing agreements on initiatives because there were none that involved Trump; got no agreement from the rest of the world on how to handle North Korea; but the president did tweet that the entire world was talking about how Hillary’s campaign chairman.
@realDonaldTrump Jul 7
“Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!”
We can’t even say that was True Until It Was Not True, because it was never even true for 30 seconds. The rest world was smart enough to know that Podesta was not the head of the DNC and thus had no ability to turn over their servers. Only Donald was not smart enough to know that.
• The US did leave the meetings with a new security partner however:
@realDonaldTrump 16h16 hours ago
“Putin & I discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded..”
So the guy that hacked the elections is going to partner with you on election security. Makes sense. Why don’t you just go ahead and give him everyone’s email addresses and pass codes now. This is like taking the guy who robbed your house and inviting him over for dinner and letting him design a security system for your house.
There are a lot of things this administration says that are true. We are just having trouble finding them.
